I was inspecting a house the other day and was going well until i came to the bathroom.
The shower had been leaking through cracked tiles and poor silicone sealant at the wall and floor junction. While this is very common for a shower to be leaking in approximately 60%-70% according to Quality Building Inspections, this was at a whole new level. (see video in the video section of the Quality Building Inspection website)
After further investigation we found that the shower had been leaking for a considerable amount of time because we had moisture damage along the entire shower wall up to a meter and half from the shower recess. We also discovered that the timber skirting in the adjacent linen cupboard had rotted that bad that there was not much left in sections.
Further problems can occur from these kind of damages such as timber rot and termite infestations.
Major problems like these have the potential to cost more and more the longer they are left. If you think you have a issue in your home and would like a second opinion call us today on 0408817898 or email email@example.com. We would be happy to help you over the phone or in person.
